Code of Ethics - Association of Coaching Registered Coach
Maintain the good reputation for coaching within the UKIn recent years there has been a dramatic increase in coaching providers, but at present (2010) there is still very little regulation in the Coaching industry (as with most industries there will always be companies who aren’t experienced or knowledgeable enough and shouldn’t really be working within their chosen field). Because of this concerned members of the coaching community are gathering support for standards within our field to maintain quality and to maintain the good reputation for coaching within the UK. As a Member of the Association of Coaching, Spark subscribe to their Code of Ethics, not only as a means for preparation for eventual regulation but also as a professional standard on which to measure itself against. You can view the Code of Ethics at the Association of Coaching website as well as information about joining the association and you can also add your voice to the lobby.
CPD For CoachesJoin Association for Coaching’s Co Coaching Forum, Local Network Group and attend Regional Events We are committed to the development of coaching from an industry into a profession. We are therefore involved in the promotion of good practise within the northwest in particular. Julia Menaul is the Group facilitator for the Northwest Local network group which meets every 4 weeks in Warrington. This is a speaker led group concentrating on key topics for coaches and to practise. It is smaller (limited to 20 places) and more informal than the larger Regional Events. If you are interested in the Co coaching group for pure practise and feedback contact Karen Sherborne littlesteps@orangehome.co.uk For Regional events contact Caroline Mayoh caroline@inspiration2action.co.uk There are other forums around the UK if you are not Northwest based. To find out about one in your area contact Angela Dunbar angela@associationforcoaching.com
